The whole team at Bellarine Sewing Centre are SO excited to introduce you to the newest in Brother innovation and technology in the combination sewing, quilting and embroidery machine, the Brother BX1 – Expedition.

And what an expedition this machine is about to take you on!!

From the moment you sit in front of the machine it’s a new experience given the lovely Brother sparkly blue lid and surrounds of the screen, giving you a bit of bling when you sew.

From a sewing and quilting point of view the machine has all your favourite features (automatic functions, thread cutter, lovely stitches) and adds some incredible ones to the mix. Featuring a wide 10” throat space giving you ample room for large quilts, 754 built stitches and a 7-inch colour touchscreen you can’t go wrong from a sewing perspective.

The added bonus of the External Laser Guideline Marker projecting a clear guideline onto your fabric, makes it easier to sew straight seams, stitch neatly along edges and position decorative stitching with precision. When you have used a laser you can never go back as it makes half square triangles, piecing binding strips and machine quilting a dream.

This machine also comes with Brother specialised Mu-Vit Foot to ensure ease of quilting and ensuring slippery fabrics are held well for consistent outcomes.  This is a ‘walking foot’ with muscle – using a conveyor belt style the Mu-Vit foot feeds the fabric with ease.

This is something new… Brother’s innovative Curve Sewing Mode automatically adjusts presser foot pressure as you stitch, helping fabric glide smoothly around curves. Designed to improve fabric feeding and minimise puckering, it provides greater precision and control for beautifully smooth curved seams and decorative stitching. Imagine sewing your Drunkard’s Path block so quickly or inserting sleeves into a garment. This is game changer for your curved sewing.

Optional extras are the Wide Table and the Stitch Regulator for free motion quilting.

All this in sewing mode and then you get into the embroidery side of things!

With such a generous 200mm x 360mm embroidery area there is not much that you won’t be able to achieve with this machine. With 914 built in embroidery designs as well as wireless connectivity to ArtSpira and the world of possibilities there, you will never get bored and you will always find something to make!

There are incredible inbuilt projects like French Knot Embroidery, Knit Couching, crochet-inspired patterns, 3D appliqué and In-the-Hoop projects.

Additionally, it features matrix copy, 2 point positioning with LED Pointer, stitch to block (resize embroidery designs while helping preserve their appearance and stitch quality) as well as My Stitch Monitor App (keep track of your embroidery progress remotely with the My Stitch Monitor app. Check your machine’s progress from a compatible mobile device, allowing you to monitor your project while getting on with other tasks).
